The Reflective Road Studs are Installed in Jiaozhou

According to the Public Faculty Division of Jiaozhou Construction Bureau, over 630 amber reflective road studs are installed in the section of Yangzhou Road between Changzhou Road to Fuzhou Road, which makes the drivers can see the marked lines on the ground clearly even at night or in bad weather conditions.

Recently, people passing Yangzhou Road will find that the reflective marks on the section from Changzhou Road to Fuzhou Road are special, which like bright bulbs fixed on the ground. The officer of the Public Faculty Division of Jiaozhou Construction Bureau says that those special “bulbs” are reflective road studs, which are also called 360° cat eyes, and they are advanced international road reflective markers. These new type road facilities have been tested on the roads at home, which can delineate the way for drivers.

The road studs look like upside down bases in the daytime, which is inconspicuous, however, when night approaches, the road studs can reflect the light given out by cars, and the light can make the drivers see the way clearly, which can guide the vehicles drive safely. It is known that the cat eyes are transparent hemisphere and the main component of them are silicon dioxide, which is environmentally friendly. Compared with the traditional plastic or cast aluminum road studs, the cat eyes can reflect light from all angles, which can decrease the happening rate of traffic accident; the service life of cat eyes are long, which can decrease the maintenance cost. The cat eyes are economical and practical.
“This section is the pilot road for the 360° amber reflective cat eyes.”  The officer of the Jiaozhou Construction Bureau says. As the main road of Jiaozhou, the Yangzhou Road, which is the junction of old town and new city, shoulders most of the traffic load from east to west, and more cat eyes will be installed in Jiaozhou in the future.
