1.The solar panel: the solar panel is the core part of the solar power system, and it is also the part with the highest value in the solar power system. The function of it is to transform the solar power into electrical energy, which is stored inside the accumulator or drive the load to work. The quality and cost of the solar panel determine the quality and cost of the whole system directly.
 
2.The solar controller: the function of the solar controller is to control the working condition of the whole solar street light system and the overcharge & over discharge protection for the accumulator. In the places where with big gap of temperature, the qualified controller should has the function of temperature compensation. Other additional functions like light-operated switch and time-operated switch are the optional choices for the solar controller
 
3.The accumulator: the accumulator of the solar street light is the lead-acid cell, and the NI-MH battery, Ni-Cd battery and the Li-battery can be applied in the small micro system. The function of the accumulator is to store the electrical energy produced by the solar panel and release it when it is needed.
 
4.The inverter: in most occasions, the AC power of 220VAC and 110VAC are needed. For the direct output of the solar power is 12VDC, 24VDC and 48VDC, the DC power produced by the solar power system should be transformed into the AC power to provide electrical energy for the electrical equipments with 220VDC. Thus the DC-AC inverter should be used. In certain occasions, the load with various voltage is needed, the DC-DC inverter should be applied, such as transform the 24VDC to the electrical power of 5VDC. (Notice: not the simple reduction of voltage. )
